A.     Chemical Reaction

Sometimes we don’t realize that the chemical reaction occurred, even it very near with us. Whereas so many chemical reaction in our daily life.

When our mother make tape (Indonesian language) in the making of it occurred the chemical reaction like this:

2(C₆H₁₀O₅)n + nH₂O → n C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁

Amilum/pati amilase                    maltosa

C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ + H₂O → 2 C₆H₁₂O₆

Maltosa maltase        glukosa

C₆H₁₂O₆ → 2 C₂H₅OH + CO₂

Glukosa       alkohol         

Have you ever seen the iron which rusted? It looks like the following image.

In chemistry we know that the reaction is

2Fe₃+ + 3O₂ →Fe₂O₃

Chemical equation reaction describes the chemical reaction. It’s consist of reactant and product.

Boldness :

1.    Substance in the left side of arrow is reactant.

2.    Substance in the right side of arrow is product.

3.    The chemical equation is completed with the sign of the shape substance which is written in the bracket.

(s)        : solid

(l)         : liquid

(g)       : gas

(aq)     : aqueous

4.    The chemical equation must according to hukum kekekalan massa (Lavoisier Law). So the number of atom must equal, the way is make equal the coefficient.
